Rules.

6.The Umpire will be given 2 New Balls and 2 used match balls by the fielding side at the start of each fielding innings.

7.It is the responsibility of the fielding side to provide the balls. These balls will be used in the event of the new balls being lost or unusable after the first 4 Overs; the used balls can be any ball as long as its condition is acceptable. Umpire has the final say on which ball is used.

12.The umpire and the opposing captain must be notified of any player(s) who may arrive late. Once the team sheet has been handed to the umpire, the players cannot be substituted. The time limit for late arrivals is one hour from the commencement of the game.

13.Unregistered players will be permitted to field as long as they wear matching attire to the team. However, they will not be allowed to bat or bowl.

14.Player(s) arriving after the cut-off time can only participate as a substitute player cannot bat or bowl.

15.Players who arrive late are not permitted to bowl or bat until they have been on the field of play for a minimum of the overs they have missed. For instance, if a player is 10 overs late, they cannot bat or bowl for at least 10 overs. The start of play is indicated when the umpire allows the players to take to the field.

16.Upon arrival, late players must inform their captain. The captain must then inform the umpire that the player has arrived and entered the field of play.

17.A game cannot commence if a team is found to be short of a minimum of seven players. For every four minutes lost due to player shortages, one additional over will be deducted from the offending team.

18.The commencement time for the game will be 1.30pm (minimum 7 players). Any team that fails to meet the minimum required player count at that time (regardless of inclement weather or the game’s postponement due to such conditions) will be forfeited the match and liable for the full fee incurred for the umpire and ground hire.

Then 4 players (excluding the bowler and the wicket keeper) will be in the circle at all times during the match after the Power Play, otherwise a “no ball” decision will be given;

25.Both Teams are responsible for the stumps, bails, discs, and boundary markers;

26.There will be a break of 25 minutes after completion of first innings;

27.All legside deliveries will be recorded as wide.

28.Players must wear the appropriate attire provided by the league. Failure to do so will result in their disqualification from play.

29.If a game is not commenced by 4:00 PM due to inclement weather, it will be declared abandoned, and the points will be shared. Conversely, if the game commences promptly at 4:00 PM, it will be played to a maximum of twenty overs each.

30.If inclement weather causes the cancellation of any scheduled play by 4:00 p.m., the game will be abandoned and the points will be shared between the participating teams.

31.The maximum permissible time for all 40 overs (per innings) is approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes, which corresponds to 4:10pm (4 minutes per over). An additional 15 minutes will be accommodated for various reasons, resulting in a cut-off time of 4:25 p.m.

32.All first innings must be finished by 4.25pm (the “cut-off” time, the innings will close at 4.25pm), if no delays in 1st innings.

33.The second innings MUST start at 4.50pm (or 25 minutes after the completion of their first innings if finished before 4.25pm); or earlier if both teams agree to have a shorter break.

34.For games commencing at 1:30 p.m.,

35. In the event that 40 overs are not bowled by 4:25 p.m., the team batting first will be permitted to bat until 4:35 p.m. to complete their innings. The second innings should commence no later than 4:50 p.m. with a reduced break time. The team will only face the number of overs they bowled at the end of 4:25 p.m. These times must be adhered to regardless of whether an official umpire is present. Any team that does not abide by this rule in any manner will be subject to penalties.

36. Any team deliberately wasting time to gain an advantage will be penalised. (5 Points will be deducted from the offending Team).

37. 41.A No Ball will be awarded if more than five players are positioned on the legside.

42.One ball over shoulder height is permitted in an over. A no-ball will be called if more than one ball is bowled in any over.

43. In the event of inclement weather affecting play, a game of Twenty Overs will be conducted, with the net run rate serving as the determining factor for the outcome. For instance, if the team batting first scores 200 runs in 40 Overs, their net run rate will be 5. Conversely, the team batting second will need to achieve a net run rate of 5 or more after the 20th Over or any subsequent Over that the game is reduced to. In essence, the batting team must accumulate a net run rate of 5 or more after the 20th Over to secure victory. Similarly, the fielding team must maintain a net run rate below 5 per Over to secure the win. If the game is reduced to 30 Overs, 20 Overs will still constitute a game. In all cases, 20 Overs will be played in the event of rain-affected or reduced games.

44.For a 40 Overs match a result can only be achieved if a minimum of 20 Overs are bowled or if the score is reached earlier.

45. In the event that a match is called off due to inclement weather, the league will promptly notify both captains by 11:30 AM. This notification will ensure that the umpires are also apprised of the situation.

46.The umpire will determine whether the ground is suitable for play after 1:30 p.m. This decision is final and binding. The game may be suspended by the umpire or the groundsman if he deems the ground unfit for play by 4 pm
